Hi all, Arrived safely! Although it didn't half take a long time. The flying was fine and we experienced some fantastic onboard cuisine. We even managed to get upgraded to BA Club class, which meant a bottle of wine and gin and tonic! At 60,000 feet I was smashed and Sasha had to put me to sleep with a magic pill! Arrived in Bali at about 21:00 local time, we did not have the address of where we were staying, so we hopped in a cab, got dropped off at the edge of Ubud and proceeded to ask around until at about 23:00 we eventually found the place. Getting up this morning we experienced fantastic views of rice paddies. I am very sweaty. Sidney Hello all in Blighty! Yep, it's been a loooooong journey but we're finally here. The upgraded flight made for a very comfortable trip with much space and much free booze! Experiences to date: 1 The wonderful Chinese habit of hocking loudly in public (Hong Kong airport) 2 The crazy driving (or rather weaving on wheels) of the Balinese. 3 The amazing hospitality of our hosts who seem to want to talk to us endlessly to practice their English 4 The unbearable weight of a rucksack full of unnecessaries 5 The smells of insense burning everywhere and the sacred floral offerings all over the streets (which we keep stepping in - not really) 6 Saw an incredible sunset and lightening storm from the plane above Borneo - photos to follow The place we're staying is fabulous - it's a 3 storey 'bungalow' with everything we could possibly want - and all for under a fiver each! Wowsers. That's about it for now (we've only been here for a few hours after all!). We're off to explore and buy LOTS of water and wierd looking fruit.
