Wow what a stunning place, we got off the ferry and were attacked by people trying to sell us accomodation! "my friend, my friend" bloody hell they have got a lot of friends! so me and pete sat in a cafe and waited for it to die down. we went out in search of a plce to stay- oh my god how expensive! not really but compared to the rest of thailand. i thought oh maybe we ul travel to the north of the island to see if we can get cheap accomodation there, but when i asked for a taxi i was laughed at! because there are no roads- if you want to go anywhere you have got to go by boat!! so we ended up in a little guesthouse that stunk of cats? we took a walk to the beach it was small but stunning, but then the heavens opened and it started raining really heavy. so spent most of our time on Phi Phi in the bars or eating!
it rained the whole time we were there and all the streats were gettin flooded, so we braved it and went out sightseeing. we wlaked to the end of the beach and couldn't believe it- there was still a lot of damage from the tsunami, there was timber and rubble and rubbish everywhere which was real sad to see.
we went on a sunset cruise and went to see the place where they filmed 'the beach' on route we went past monkey bay, but failed to see any monkeys? then went snorkling, which was amazing as the water is soo clear. to get to 'the beach' we had to swim from the boat and climb through a small hole in a cliff (whilst the waves were really big) i thought i was gonna die! but when we got there it was well worth it- it was absolutly stunning, the water was bluey green and looked unreal as if someone had put in food colouring. Wow!
