Coming in on the ferry from Phi Phi the weather was horrible, raining really bad we could hardly see. plus we were sat on the top of the boat trying to stand under the shlter but getting soaked. I did say to Pete that i was never gettin on a boat again, but here i was bobbing up and down up and down - i felt real ruff.
We booked into a small guesthouse called stoney monday paying only 400baht a night (6 pound) with cooked breakfast! room is real nice big and clean and only 130 meters from the beach. We booked in for 11 nights (bacon and eggs novelty has worn off now thou)
The place is busy with loads of holiday makers, i dont blame them thou the place is stunning. The beach is big with white sand and warm clear blue sea, and the weather is great it is boiling hot and it feels like its getting hotter every day! we have been really lucky as monsoon season starts end of may and we have only had rain in the night.
The zoo we hired a little moped and went to the zoo, i was dreading it cos i didn't know what to expect but it wasn't as bad as i thought. we went to watch the shows, the monkey show was ok - felt sorry for them they didn't look like they were enjoying themselves. they were making them do maths! then went to the crocodile show - there were 2 thai guys in a small enclosure with 8 crocodiles, and there was only a small island in the middle of the pond! they were mental poking and prodding them and dragging them by their tails (and sticking their heads by their mouths) i ended up walking out, i couldn't watch the poor crocodiles. Next was the elephant show, now this was impressive they had 4 elephants and they had them playing football, riding bikes, playing instruments and even painting pictures (which they tried selling to us!)
