Koah Sok started out ok. The sun was shining and there was greenery everywhere with a little stream! The room that we got unfortuntaley however was a little box with a leaking toilet and sink. But at least we had a fantastic view!
In the afternoon most of the group went tubing and then to a Monkey temple. I decided not to go to try and save a bit of monay and as I asked whether the tubing was compareable to the one in Vang Vieng and it wasn't I knew that I would've been dissapointed if I went. So I spent the sfternoon consulting with my lonely planet anplanning my time in Malaysia : ) I had some company for a little while as there was two girls that also didn't go tubing. This was short lived however when we went to investigate whether it was feesable or not to go to the Full Moon party that was that night. I quickly text Candy in the hope that she'd pick it up in time so that we could also go. Unfortuntley this wasn't the case, so they went off and I then carried on planning.
Candy was gutted when she got back and realised it was too late to go but I know that i couldn't have gone without her as it wouldn't have been the same! But so close! The eveing instead was a pretty chilled out one, just having dinner and then going for some drinks at a funky little bar.
The next day we all got up and went to the Koah Sok Rainforrest which is older than the Amazon. We were all quite excited to go and explore. Unfortunately due to it being the end of rainy season (finishing on the 2nd) the majority of the park was closed. We walked to the first two points that we were allowed to go. It was pretty much just like walking in a park in England. Enjouyable but nothing special. So after peering at the unimpressive waterfalls we walked back to the point that we could access the third point. On the way back the heavens opened!
This made us decide that we would just grab some lunch before going back in. We however changed our minds when we discovered the leeches! Maria still had one attatched to her and got attacked the worst and mine had already dislodged itself without me realising it was even there. Although they didn't hurt they still freaked us out and none of us appreciated the loss of blood. So we all powered back to the resort and stripped off! As there wasn't much else to do with the day me and Chelsea decided that after that adventure, we'd treat ourselves to a Thai Massage.
Oh my god it was amazing! It wasn't as brutal as I expected, but they really do twist and yank you into all sorts of possitions. You do feel amazing afterwards and I'm really glad that I had one. A thumbs up.
The evening was nothing special, just everyone hanging out playing cards which was still fun. When we got back to the room though we discovered that we had bedbugs, with Candys bed being the worst. So I layed my anti bed bug sleeping bag out flat on my bed, we both got into our silk liners and slept on the same bed together so that we wouldn't get eaten alive.
So all in all we were pretty happy to be leaving Koah Sok. I think that this place would be amazing when it's not raining / the whole park is open. So if you're thinking of going here don't come between June and Mid December!
