Today started with yet another train journey to Agra. We arrived around lunchtime which is not a good time to go and see the Taj Mahal so a few of us decided to visit a ghost town which is about an hours drive away from Agra to a place called Fatephur Sakri. This place was lovely although I'm not sure whether it was worth the drive but it did give us something to do for the afternoon. It was a very long journey back to the hotel so I didn't go out for dinner and instead went to Costa coffee for tea and the most amazing chocolate cake!
The next day started with yet another early start so that we could get to the Taj Mahal before the crowds arrived so we got there for 6am so that we could make the sunrise. However due to the burrocracy of what is allowed and not allowed in, we missed the sunrise and I'm afraid Yvonne included in what is not allowed into the Taj Mahal includeds soft toys so I was unable to take a photo of hug : ( I have to say it was worth seeing the Taj Mahal as it is beautiful and photos really can't do it justice.
Once we were all rested, refreshened and fed a few of us went to see the baby Taj which is not as impressive as the main Taj bit it is still worth a visit as the architecture and detail in the building is different from the Taj Mahal. In the evening we thank fully departed Agra for our sleeper train to Varanassi. I'm afraid Agra is only good to see the Taj Mahal as the rest of the town is overpriced and a bit grimey.
