Last day in Alice Springs as I flew out to Melbourne early on Saturday morning.Had an easy day today after my 4-day tour. The weather in Alice is soooo hot as well, that I really didn't want to be baking myself outside anymore!I ended up having a nice breakfast in town and then going to the Flying Doctors visitors centre - don't laugh!!I know it seems tame after being in the Red Centre, but it was actually really interesting.Having avidly watched the soap with my sister when we were younger, it was actually quite nice to be able to see their centre and see what they were about. They're completely dependent on charity fundraising to maintain their planes and they mainly treat tourists and aboriginal people these days.Their first radios in the late 1920s (it was started in 1928) were powered by pedal power as radio communication in those days was still in early operation!Anyways, I thought it was really interesting and their cafe food was also really yummy :DI hadn't thought that much of Alice really, but I enjoyed it more when I could actually see some of it during the day.I really enjoyed the desert park, feeding wallabies at Heavitree, and also just being able to relax without having to deal with flies trying to explore my nose, or grasshoppers the size of my hand trying to accost me!!Melbourne was my next stop too, where my friend April would be picking me up at the airport - yay - actual friends to talk to!!I'd have my own room, and be able to leave my stuff all over it!!It does still feel strange being on the other side of the world, and also that I've only been away for just over 2 weeks. It certainly feels like a lot longer!Time is meant to fly when you're having fun, isn't it?But time seems to be going quite slowly, which must be a good thing too :)
