Zvi Josef's Travels
Well, we had a rather exciting morning.
Our complimentary limo ride arrived to our hotel in Guangzhou, but unfortunately, when the driver stepped out of the car, he was hit by a taxi that drove by and got injured. He's now in hospital, but doing ok.
The duty manager who came along with the driver from Sofitel Humen Oriental (our current hotel) spoke with the GM of the Sofitel so that the Pullman hotel (in Guangzhou) sends us off in one of their limos, which they did.
It took apx. 90 minutes of driving to get to the hotel, where we were personally greated by the GM of the hotel, and most of the high ranking managers of the hotel.
We were then escorted to our room, which is literally too good to be true - it's a super luxurious Opera Suite with a hall, a kitchen, guests bathroom, a HUGE living room with computer, TV, Bose sound system, couches, a dining room, master bedroom with a king bed, closet room, bathroom with a toilet, huge bath tub, shower, toilet and get this - a sauna! The other bedroom has 2 single beds, a closet room, a bathroom with a bath tub, shower and toilet.
Naturally, all bathrooms have TV's, as do the bedrooms.
All in all, there are 10 flower arrangements in the room, 5 TV's and 200 square meters of pure joy. To top it all, the room is on the 56th floor fo the hotel with awesome views.
The GM has extended a generous welcoming gift, which includes wine, a fruit basket and some snacks and has invited us to his cocktail this evening.
The Hebrew saying is "EIN DVARIM KAELE!".
Pictures to come soon. :)
23:00 update: This evening was ridiculous. Ami and I removed our fancy clothes (with which we checked in the hotel) and went to barmuda and crocks in order to go outside for a night market to buy a couple of t-shirts for zero dollars. BUT - the GM of the hotel just started his cocktail party and he caught us before we managed to leave the hotel and literally forced us into the party, where everyone was in tuxidos, ties and evening dresses - only Ami and I were in short clothes - so embarrassing. EVERYONE came to talk to us from the staff, brought us drinks and food, interviewed us etc. and after an hour and a half, when we wanted to go, the GM insisted to have a group photo with us - OMG!!! :) We hope to be able to get this photo as a funny memory. :)
