It's friday and my second day in Thailand. I had a pretty easy morning with breakfast at the hotel and discovering the area of where I am staying at the moment.
The hotel is good, not fancy and not totally run down. It's a 10 min drive from Phuket airport and is a 10 min walk to the beach... Or should I say 9 min walk and 1 min floating on a raft like thing across a small river. It has it charm ;-)
Well, you would probably like to hear about this midnight drink proposal right...
I was walking home from the small village that's just next to the hotel, enjoying the sunset and smiling at people I walked by on the beach. Helped a French couple take a picture of them holding hands in the beautiful sunset. Took some pictures of the sunset myself since I know that it's mandatory to capture these moments ;-)
Almost reached the floating raft thingy and a man on a moped shouts 'hey' behind me. Did not look at first since I don't know anyone here, but then a 'hey' once more and as I can't seem to find the person who should be shouting back I turn around and the man smiles at me and askes where I am from (great pick up line...)
I reply that I'm from Denmark hinting that I'm going towards the floating raft but the man keeps talking.
'How long are you staying, how long have you been here, planning to go out tonight'? He sounds like he is from Germany but I do not ask, don't want to invite further conversation.
I try keeping my answers prompt and tell him that I do not have any plans for going out and before I finish my last sentence he asks 'do you want to go out for a drink'?
I try once more in a friendly way but with a tone of 'leave me alone' - 'I don't drink, sorry'.
Then the man asks me of my name and states 'it can be a juice'?
I respond with a 'No thank you, I'm heading to my room to sleep'.
The man tries one last time, 'my name is Stephen. When are you leaving'?
I respond 'I leave tomorrow, thanks, but no thanks, have a nice evening' and that finally sealed the proposal with a NO - or so I thought... 'see you next time' Stephen says and waves at me...
Ermmm.. Must say he was a persistent b*****, cudos for that ;-)
Tomorrow noon I leave Naiyang beach to go to Karen Beach for 2 nights and then I am off to Koh Yao Yai. A small Island East of Phuket. Should be all about relaxing and peace and not so crowded. Will be picked up at my hotel in Karon by my driver *feeling very important* and transfered to Phuket pier from where a public speedboat will transport me to a small pier at Koh Yao Yai, where a new driver will pick me up and drive me to the resort... Weeiii... Looking forward to this stay. Should be awesome :)

Mette Lyder sejt! Nyd det nu:-)
Helene He he der gik ikke lang tid
