Hi, As you you can see we are now in Vietnam!
But first the last few tales of Hong Kong. We finally got the right plug in bit to put photos on and they are now on blog yey!
After blog update on monday we went to Kowloon park to have a nosy around. So peaceful in the middle of 'copy watch, copy handbag city' where every other person on street trys to stop you to try and get you to buy! Our tempers were started to get a bit frayed and we learnt quite quickly to give a stern no response or ignore them completely!
Anyway, back to Kowloon park. We decided to have a sit on one of the benches and people watch, always amusing and free! Seen some funny sights and we attracted some funny looks.
Went back to Staney market, poor Emma is sick of being dragged round by me (Sarah) & Amy looking for bargains (which have since had to be posted home as we could'nt actually fit them in backpack opps! Called at repulse bay on the way back down, it is a very famous beach in Hong Kong where everyone goes when the sun comes out did'nt bring bikinis though so did'nt catch it much.
Moved homes again! 4th time in 2 weeks, we get about a bit! Back to a YMCA, expensive (for us) at nearly 20 pounds each a night but sooooo worth it, it was luxury showers were huge and room was spotless to top it all we had a harbour veiw of Hong Kong skyline out the window, perfect!
Left HK this afternoon on a flight to Hanoi, Vietnam only been here a few hours but already had some of the funniest and most nerve wrecking experiences of the trip!
Where to start......Got on minibus to go hotel, oh my god people on mopeds and scooters everywhere seems to be no rules to the road at all, stopped looking out the windows for fear we were going to witness someone get squashed!! Then we were quite litterally droped off in the middle of the street, after initial panic we finally found the right road to go down. We were beyond relieved to find our hotel was newly refurbished and has the loveliest couple running it. Clean, breakfast provided, and free internet, oh and it is only costing us about US$6 a night (3 POUNDS!!!!)
Just been out for tea, found mashed potato and chops literally on our doorstep which was a bonus. With happy full tummies we decided to take a little stroll down to the night market, this turned into an extremly traumatising experience our nerves were completely gone. Crossing the road is definatly an art form. We stood at one road for a good 15 minutes looking like frightened rabbits until Amy found a big German man to sheild us and push us across safely. On the way back across no such luck, I (Sarah) nearly lost an arm and Amy nearly lost a few toes more than once, Emma on the other hand seems to have mastered it the art of running very fast and weaving in and out of scooters!!
Arrived safely back at hotel and will update you with more adventures soon, going for a well deserved lie down and de-stress!! Bye for now xxx.
