This week was spent enjoying our time with the children, exploring areas still on our to do list such as Shoreditch, Wapping etc plus we even found time to enjoy a cider at The Dickens Inn at St Katherine's docks.
On Friday night George & Vicky took us out to a delightful French Resturant called The Gantry in Brockley, about 20 mins walk away. We had a lovely evening & delicious meal.
On Saturday we took the train north to Peterborough to meet our ex-next door neighbours from SA days whom we had not seen in 27 years. They took us to a picturesque pub in a place called Kings Cliffe for lunch ..... A lovely day spent catching up on family & mutual friends.
We returned to a chilled evening babysitting & talking travel with cousin Elizabeth.
On Sunday we were off south west to Hartley Whitney to catch up with an old school friend of Rays & his family. We had a glorious English summers day eating a magnificent lunch outside under the grapevines. A good few laughs & reminiscences filled the afternoon. We caught the late afternoon train back to Waterloo, grabbed some wine & caught up with Angus, Lindsay & her parents at Antico, a superb Italian Resturant close to their flat.
Angus dropped us 'home' where we collapsed into bed.
