Popped into the world-famous Raffles Hotel for their signature drink - the Singapore Sling - in the Long Bar. Unsurprisingly, their version tastes much better than the Crown & Horseshoes one - I should hope so too for $28SGD (£14). Also you get a bowl of peanuts and are encouraged to throw the shells on the floor - don't think I'll try that in Enfield!

Next up, the Singapore Flyer, which is even larger than the London Eye. The sights, however are a little different - a 3-tower hotel with a fake boat connecting their roofs and an opera house shaped like an armadillo.

Finished the day at the Singapore Zoo's Night Safari. Had a great narrated tram ride round most of the animals followed by a few trails on foot. Highlights were seeing a sloth bear - so big! - a flying fox hanging upside-down like Batman and a flying squirrel who teased us for several minutes, but never took off from his perch at the top of the tree.
