Well all good things come to an end, and I am sat at Bangkok airport waiting for the flight home.
The day started early as we had our last tour to the floating markets. It was 110km out of Bangkok and the traffic here is unbelievable. We turned out of the hotel and into the path of 2 lanes of oncoming traffic. Apparently it's quite normal. Driving in Bangkok is very scary, it's every man for himself, weaving is the way to go. Everything over here is chaotic.
We eventually arrive at a place and its a coconut farm, very strange place. You could have a 30kg snake round your neck for a photo or climb a coconut tree up a ladder for a photo.
Onward we travelled and next stop we boarded a long tail boat and we were on the canals. It was very exciting and we travelled for about half an hour. Then we transferred to a smaller paddle boat and entered the market area. Another scene of chaos, but very exciting. If a stall holder wanted to sell you something they had long hooks which they dragged your boat in alongside their stall. Mainly junk for sale but it was buzzing with action and smells!
Back on the bus we were told that we were going to visit a temple, pity really because we were not allowed in so it was a waste of time. It then took us another 2 hours to get back to the hotel. Traffic!
Straight to the swimming pool. Then last minute shopping in the huge mall. We went for a beer in the place we ate last night which was very cool and calm. Then we were back in the traffic to get to the airport.
The good news is that my box of orchids have got through security so I hope they get through at the other end.
