We were awake early this morning as there is a 3 hour difference between here and Aussie. This hotel has a free breakfast, so the Sharps were down there early! An excellent buffet breakfast, already planning what we are going to have tomorrow.
We had a temples and City tour booked which started off at 8.00am. For some reason this was a private tour, so we had a dedicated driver and a tour guide (think Gok Wan Thai Style) to ourselves. He was brilliant and looked after me as if I was his Mum. We saw a temple which was very impressive and were due to see 2 more, however he suggested that he took us on a tour of the flower and veg market which obviously went down very well. Oh dear, I do hope immigration and customs are feeling friendly Wednesday morning - I have a box of orchids.
We returned to the hotel after an enforced visit to a Gem centre and it was 35 degrees- we needed a pool and the hotel had one, an infinity pool with views across the skyline of the city. What a great 2/3 hours we had there. Pool sunbed, pool sunbed , pool sunbed. Then it got seriously hot so we needed a change.
We went shopping...... To buy a bag to put the box of orchids in.
Well the shopping mall was something else. Meadowhall eat your heart out! 6 storeys high and everything you could thing of real and fake.
Catherine and I had a, pedicure and a manicure with nail art whilst sat in a chair with back massage. One girl each on feet and one on hands - fantastic and all so cheap. Pete got a DVD of a 3 hour blues festival, which they pirated whilst Pete went for a walk!
Getting hungry now so back to the hotel to dump the bag and. Off to a Thai restaurant. Very good indeed although it was down a dodgy alleyway. When we came out there was a guy with a golf buggy who drove us back to the main road. All very good. Only 24hrs left. Tomorrow we are up even earlier (7.00am pickup) for a tour of the floating markets. Then it's the final packing and off to the airport.:(
