Left Auckland on Sunday and headed north to Paihia at the Bay of Islands. Arrived Sunday afternoon and had a look around. On Monday we went Kayaking in the bay and went out to two of the islands just off the bay, then followed the coast line and
cut inland up a small estury until the tide changed and was against us.

In the afternoon we borrowed some bikes from the hostel but with the combination of the bikes and the wind we did not go far. On Tuesday we tried again on the bikes, this time using different bikes, not that they were much better but the wind had at least dropped. We cycled to nearby waterfalls which was not that far but was up two steep hills, made harder by the bikes.

Tuesday afternoon I went on a bay island cruise that
included swimming with dolphins, unfortunately as soon as we located the dolphins the boat broke down and we had to be dropped off on a nearby island and then picked up by another boat.
