We have now stayed 3 nights at a really nice hostel in Greymouth; we spent the first night in the car after being rained out of the tent, and the other two in the hostel.The hostel has an African/Indonesian theme (will add some pics later), with very mellow laid back music being played all day long, which is just as well as we have been stuck in for the past 2 days due to the wind and rain.

We are heading across Authors pass tomorrow (Sunday 15th January), toward Christchurch, the weather is supposed to be dryer along the east coast so fingers crossed.If it is still raining there we will just check out the weather forecast and head for where ever it is dry and sunny.Everyone we meet says "its not normally like this in New Zealand" so am hoping for good weather really soon!!!
