Well we finally arrived in Australia- can't believe we're here on the other side of the world!
A couple of things immediately hit us on our first day in Perth- oh my God, it's so expensive- mostly because we came from Asia where we could live like kings and never had to look at a price tag at all! And secondly, the flies- noone told us about the flies! They follow you, hundreds of them, and kind of stick to you and it's not a pleasant
experience. So because of the prices- we had to check into a hostel for the first time in ages and it turned out to be one of the worst, grottiest hostels ive ever stayed in!
The first couple of days we just took it easy, really just waiting on Lina and I was so excited to see her.
And we found that overall there's not really alot to do in Perth- a pretty city but also pretty dead! Finally picked up wee Lina at the airport and so happy to see her wee face. She's had a ball on her adventure up the east coast of Australia and is now keeping Steven and I right with all the aussie ways, quirks, rules and most importantly she quickly introduced
us to Backpackers australian wine- GOON! It's the cheapest wine ever and comes in a 4litre box! It resulted in Steven trying to wear my Stilettos!haha!
Due to our lack of love for Perth, we packed up and headed just a little south to Fremantle- a lovely small place with lots of coffee shop and bars. The hostel here was fab and we made heaps of cool friends in our 8bed dorm where we stayed for almost 2 weeks. Most days we'd head to the beach- Cottisloe and Rockingham were 2 lovely beaches.
Next we were reunited with Rita and Kieran- so great to see them! Kieran's brother and family had us over to their house for a BBQ and we had such a good time- his 2 nephews are the most amazing kids ever!!!
Steven and I got free bike hire one day so cycled along the gorgeous coast. We had lots of nights out, in nightclubs and also parties in the hostel- spending a fortune here!
My favourite day was when we all- Lina, Rita, Steven, Keiran and I- went on a wine tour for Steven's birthday. It was amazing, a beautiful sunny day, lots of good food and wine and a great laugh!
I was really sad when it was time to say goodbye to Rita and Kieran- will miss them.xxx
