Woke up on a rock hard bed, several times throughout the night ha! Wasn't complaining at all, just grateful we could stay here. We all surfaced around half 7, again - these people don't speak a word of English. Woke up to a breakfast of noodles with tea to drink. Incredible how they could make 4 complete strangers feel at home when we can't even talk to each other! We sorted our bags and sorted our wet stuff separate ready for the laundry at the lucky hotel we would come across in Meo Vac where we were heading to next around 70-80km away from where we were in the middle of nowhere. Gave them around 400,000 dong which by the look on her face was more than enough for what she had done for us. Left like we did in Myanmar just like we were heading to school the entire family waving us off. So good to see! Again, amazing views through the mountains. Got to Meo Vac around 4-5 in the afternoon met a nice couple Fernando and Edina along the way who would stay in the same hotel as us. Also, met a new Mr Chow for our travelling journey! This guy was a tour guide, his English was awesome, was like a Duracell battery on the go 100% ALL THE TIME! Sorted our bikes they all got fixed within 2 hours, sorted our hotel, sorted our food for the evening. Nice hotel too, got our laundry done got ready and showered then headed out. He (Tom) was on about this 'happy water' a lot and as soon as we sat down he didn't mess about shot after shot of this 'happy water' must of been about 7 shots down before even ate a noodle! Decent food though, told him it was my birthday so got a nice sing song from everyone on the table and a nice 'happy water' shot to wash the food down with! Haha banter. As it was my birthday went to a karaoke bar :) The tour guide brought along a Dutch family who were on his tour as well so they were with us and joined us for karaoke, pretty weird in there Tom tried getting girls to dance for us who looked like they had just left primary school, yeah we ain't doing that mate! Sang some Vietnamese karaoke in Mariah Carey style and then back to the hostel feeling pretty merry off this 'happy water' s*** I dunno if it was rice wine or corn wine but tasted like absolute s***, but done the job!
