Got some breakfast at Easy Tiger then Guus was getting his bike fixed, shock. Guus and Bas were selling their bikes today as mine and Willem's were still ok we decided to head to Hue on the bikes hoping nothing happened to them. Somehow, Guus' bike got fixed and managed to sell his bike! Bas did too. So they were heading to Hue at 4pm on the bus. Me and Willem were hitting the road and literally was going perfect the road was clear, sun was blisteringly hot it was a perfect day for riding. Happy days! 150km in, my bike started f***ing around like it did in Ba Be National Park. So kept trying it every time it broke, would last a while then break again. Got to a point where it wouldn't start so Willem pushed me around 6km to the next town. No idea where we were but the garage we found looked at it for a bit and wanted a lot of money for repairing it. I didn't want to pay anything over 500,000 d as I wanted to sell it and would probably be lucky to get that for it anyway. At this point it started chucking down as well so me and Willem were fuming over how we got to this! Willem especially as we were heading to Hue as that was the nearest hospital - his stomach needs to get seen to urgently it is so bad :( We found another garage around the corner so they looked at it instead, after around 2 hours I told Willem to go to Hue to hospital as there was a hotel close by and I would stay there if the bike couldn't be fixed. So he did, then a few hours of trying to fix my bike, the guys said they wanted 2,500,000 d for it! Was like no chance so after thinking hard about what to do, I just left it there so didn't get any money for it. They wouldn't buy it as it was a 'old bike' they keep saying on Google Translate. So I was in the middle of nowhere with no bike, brilliant! At this garage a 3 year old lad had taken a liken to me and constantly play fighting and chucking things at me and just in general being a pain in the ass! Nicking my phone charger when it was plugged in the lot. A young girl there who was 12 spoke tiny English but invited me into their home and eventually offered me dinner! Language barrier couldn't be further but we were all getting along great! So weird! Dinner was rice, chicken, soup, shock but still amazing considering all I've had was breakfast and 2 cookies with a pack of crisps. After that sat down the mechanic and he was a United fan so was watching highlights for the new season coming up. I left around 8pm the lad who couldn't stop fighting me was a mess when I was leaving wouldn't let me go bless him! The mechanic ended up taking me on the back of his moped to the hotel as it was raining which was nice of him, prime example of how amazing the Vietnamese people are. Got to this hotel, proper s***ty hotel the room was horrible, HUGE spider in the bathroom tried killing it but kept missing this thing was massive the legs I hadn't ever seen before. So locked it in the bathroom, watched some documentaries on the iPad and thought how the hell I am going to get out of this place in the middle of nowhere tomorrow!
