Unfortunately our Christmas vacation had to come to an end today and we had to head back to Fort Mac. At least we had this last full day with the rental car and had great weather for our last day of touring around the island. The only thing we hate worse then actually flying back to the cold in Fort Mac, is the time we have to stay in what is probably the worst airport we have been to on our many travels...the Waikiki airport. Sad to say it...but today was our last day in Oahu...we had to fly out at 9:20 in the evening (we were however already planning our anniversary trip back in July :))

We spent four days this time with our rental car. Each day we took a nice leisurely tour around the island, always stopping for a good portion of the day at our favourite part of Oahu...The North Shore. We made stops at Hale'iwa, Waimea Bay, Sunset Beach and The Pipeline as well as stopping at one of our new favourite spots...the end of the road at Ka'ena State Park. We have had a great time so far in Waikiki. The weather has been great and we have maximized our sun time on Waikiki Beach. Spent Christmas Day and New Year's Eve together with Gung and Pa and even celebrated Pa's early birthday with cake and a day at Sea Life Park. While at Sea Life Park, Gung scratched one "to do" off her bucket list and went in the water with the dolphins. Cameron was also very lucky and got to go in the water with Gung...needless to say he a...

Finally in Hawaii! We had a good flight and the kids were actually really good on the plane. It's so nice to be back and get away from the -27 degree weather we left in Fort McMurray.
