First day in Hungary
We did our own walking tour from our hostel to the royal palace of Hungary, we walked through all the back roads and took in all the buildings and atmosphere around us.
Took the Buddavari fennicular up to royal palace. When we arrived at the top of the hill we saw the royal guard exchange... Men dancing around with guns and some dude playing the drums in the middle of it all... Very amusing!
Went around the national Hungarian gallery... Boring to be honest. Once you've seen one art gallery it gets a bit much to go to another #culturaloverload.
Went into St Matthiaus church. There was a distinctive yellow mustard and green mosaic roof. Royals used to come to this church.
We then took a boat trip across the river dune and walked over to the Houses of Parliament... Huge building!
Then carried on walking to st Christopher's bascilia and stopped to have dinner at a Mexicano restaurant cos we fancied it!
Heading out tonight... Went for a glass of wine. Sat on a roof top terrace bar thing with our feet dunked in the pool sipping our white wines through straws. Watching the sunset. This is the life.
Just to top the night off we saw some fireworks. V pretty! Goodnight Budapest xx
