Today we went to the schloß schönnbrunn. This was the summer palace of the hasberg empire. The palace had gorgeous gardens at the back. There was a storm last night in Vienna :( it carried on into Monday morning so we spend a couple of extra hours in bed... Was quite nice to have a lie in! Woke up early today and went to Innerstadt today which is the main tourist area in Vienna. As we arrived at the station stephanplatz we could see tall stone buildings and a whole street of designer shops. Turning around the corner we found the Stephansdom. We were lucky with our timing on Sunday as we managed to witness a Sunday service. The church itself was very gothic with beautiful stain glass windows and a dark stone design. Our night train arrived in Vienna at 10am. The train station seemed like it was shut- no ticket or information service was open. So I quickly logged onto some free wifi and booked us a hostel. Trying to then find the hostel after a long night train with little sleep proved very difficult. We seemed to keep going up and down on the same train.
