After barely surviving the freezing cold bus, then burning hot taxi and getting in to Sucre at 4am we slept a little at our hostel and started our day in Bolivia's constitutional capital after noon. We walked through the market & tried the traditional api (yellow) and tojori (purple) corn drinks as well as a delicious cherimoya fruit. We also saw tons of amazing flowers and cakes - getting ready for Mother's Day there which was the next day (27th). From there we went to the plaza and into the history/political museum called Casa de la Libertad. Next we found the chocolate fair and ate a bunch of not so great chocolate then wandered down to another artisan fair. Vanessa & I went to the touristy Joyride for dinner and had the worst service of my life - oh well!

Day 2 in Sucre we signed our names in the bicentennial book. It was cool to be a part of their 200 year history - the book was going to go into the Casa de la Libertad in the plaza as an "official document". Then we went to the dinosaur museum where we saw 4 different types of dinosaur tracks that were found there including carnivores and the sauropods (the largest type of dino ever). Our guide showed us how to differentiate the tracks and the walking vs. running. It was really cool. We also saw a BBC movie about sauropods. There were beautiful views of Sucre from there as well. After the museum, we went to another spot w/ a lookout of the city then walked back to downtown and made it to the monestary/school just in time to walk up to the roof to get views of the city from there. The lights had just come on and it was very pretty. After that Vanessa left for La Paz and I went into a museum to see a special mask exhibit showing the different kinds of carnival masks.
