Happy New Year!
Hope everyone had a great festive season and behaved themselves. My Xmas and New Year were EXCELLENT . The villa we stayed at Ko Samui was LUSH and I was thoroughly spoilt by my parents! (Well deserved of course) Unfortunately the weather was rubbish over Xmas but we chilled out in the villa and ate out at lovely restaurants for the week we were there. (We missed the Murrays big time though x)
We hired a little jeep whilst we were on the island and although I haven't driven for a few months I was loving bombing around in the 4 x 4. Don't think the family were too impressed but I thoroughly enjoyed it! We did a lot of sightseeing and shopping in Chaweng and visited a VERY depressing zoo full of depressed animals and psychotic tigers, I won't be going back! Ko Samui was beautiful though. The beaches were lovely just wish the weather was better so we could sunbathe...the tan is fading!! Haha.
After Ko Samui we headed to Ko Phangan. We had (Well, mum had) a slight panic attack when we had a mix up with our hotel. We were picked up at the port and taken to what can only be described as a HOLE. Now I've stayed in some crappy hostels since I've been away but this was ridiculous! When we found out that the hotel we'd booked had shifted us here due to overbooked mum had a slight hissy fit (And that's being polite!) and we eventually made it to where we were supposed to be! Apaarantly they thought our name was Simon and they'd just muddled it up. Lucky for the boss she was in Bangkok because I think mum would've kicked her ass had she seen her!
Thankfully it all got sorted out and we got onto the main event of Tina coming to meet me (After travelling on 3 planes, a bus and a stormy boat to reach me...thanks T x). She arrived on NYE in the morning, we spent the day gossiping and after deciding we WEREN'T going to go to Haad Rin, at about half an hour to New Year we all (Including the parents....) jumped in a Tuk Tuk and arrived at the beach 5 minutes after 12!! We were so glad we went though, it was crazy, everyone told us our parents were legends (Which is a bit true) and we got flourescent tattoos. Myself and Tina drank an unhealthy amount of buckets, Bruv had to leave early (I think it was something he ate....haha) and Tina lost her shoes out of the back of the Tuk Tuk on the way home!! Was a fab night!
Anyway, next stop Bangkok for some more shopping! Happy New Year again.
