Hi all!
Hope you're all well and looking forward to Christmas. I'm fab at the moment, met up with Bruv in Singapore (Minus my purse which I lost on the flight, luckily I have a rich and generous little Bruv!) and travelled on two overnight trains to get to Hat Yai in Thailand. We didn't do much in Singapore, just wandered around and gossiped! The same can be said for Kuala Lumpur, we arrived early in the morning and spent the day there which we both found BORING! We couldn't find much to keep us occupied, queued for ages to go into the Petronus Towers and walk across the skybridge (Which connects the two towers, about 170m above the ground). A word of advice, if anyone is heading to Malaysia anytime soon DON'T DO IT! We hung around for 4 hours for ten minutes of a view which really wasn't that great! Anyway, managed to waste the rest of the day (In the pub) and headed to Hat Yai on the sleeper train that night.
Once we got to Hat Yai we got on a minibus to Krabi which is where we are now...although we nearly didn't make it! The minibus driver was, and I think this is the technical term, BARK-A-DOODLE-DOO. In layman's terms a complete maniac. He was screeching to himself as he was driving, seemingly unaware of what the brakes were for and had us flying all over the bus. Worse than that, he was going so hard over the bumps that the bolts holding the wheel to the car fell out causing the car to wobble all over the road and eventually come to a stop by the side of the road!! The whole wheel was bent and falling off so we waited half an hour to be rescued by one of his mates!! We were mightily relieved to arrive in Krabi in one piece...but it was quite amusing really! A good intro to Thailand!
Krabi is gorgeous, we're staying at Ao Nang Beach which is a while away form Krabi Town and very nice. Yesterday we visited "James Bond Island" and various sites along the way. We had lunch on a floating Muslim village called Ko Panyee and then headed to "Monkey Temple" where, believe it or not we saw LOADS of monkeys! Bought some peanuts to feed them until one cheeky git leapt at Bruv and took the lot!! Highly amusing and VERY cute.
Today I took a trip to Ko Phi Phi via Maya Bay (Where The Beach was flimed). As you would expect it was stunning and I even managed to do some snorkelling. The water was crystal clear and I saw loads of fish which was ace.
It's our last night in Krabi now as we leave tomorrow to go and meet some old people (Love you really hehe xx) for Xmas and I can't wait! Having a family overload this few weeks and loving it!
So that's all from me, wishing you all a very Merry Christmas, I hope Santa brings you all something nice, but I've def got the best present (Yes family that means you!)
Sel
xx
