Off on our glacier hike today!! We got all done up in our sexy hiking gear, coats, trousers, boots, socks, hats and gloves! So we were looking truely professional (especially with the pink rucksacks!!) We hiked to glacier face in true New Zealand style rain (very heavy and hard!)!! BUT.... unfortunately due to the rain our actual glacier climb got cancelled, so we could only make it to the terminal face. Which in it's self was quite impressive, we didn't see any ice falls though! As our climb was cancelled our guide said he could take us on a summer flood route back, which was more interesting!! So we did!! And got soaked!! We climbed up the cliff face with an assortment of ropes and ladders and steps, through rainforest and hammering rain, very entertaining!! We then had to cross a water fall, which due to the rain wa flowing faster than usual, with one bit of rope! The climb was great and we had an amzing time even though we got totally drenched! We were so wet on way home that we couldnt resist puddle fights! We spent the rest of the day by having our picnic in our room, with hot chocolate and marshmellows, (Yum) and visiting the the tumble dryer lots!! BUT we had a great day!! unfortunately we couldn't take many pictures as the Camera would have ended up in a similar state to Sean's phone!! And in the pictures we don't look half as wet as we were!! Frodo (Alicia) and Gimley (Soph) tried looking for The Ring in all the rivers and waterfalls we passed but to no avail!!! But we did find a strane creature by the name of Smeagal/Gollum (Sean!) who followed us home! Remember, water and mobile phones DON'T mix!! They Vibrate!!!!!
