Me again, hope everyone is ok!

We arrived in Sihanoukville on the 7th of March, Cambodia's main beach resort and spent four nights here. When we arrived it was boiling hot and we walked in the mid-day heat with our backpacks on to find a place to stay. By the time we had found somewhere both of us were drenched in sweat and pissed of with each other. But ten minutes later we had drinks in our hands and swimwear on, everything was fine and we began to relax.

We mainly stayed on the beach front the whole time sunbathing and I was reading. The beach was ok if a little dirty. Most of the locals don't seem to be worried about dumping their litter on the beach. In fact apart from Thailand all the countries we have been in obviously don't realise the damage caused by dropping litter as it's everywhere and smells really bad. I guess environmental issues are not thought about here, as money is what they need and care about which is understandable but it's a shame. It's actually strange because most south east asian people are very resourceful. They use everything they can, sometimes I mean alot of the time you see people going through rubbish collecting what they can. All over the beach children are collecting bottles and cans, but leave everything else! There are also many kids selling bracelets and sourviners. It can get quite tiring sometimes having to tell them you dont want to buy but they are only trying to make money. There was also alot of amputies dragging their bodies along the sand which is so sad. The thing is you just cant give them all money but it really makes you think how easy we have it sometimes. While I was sunbathing I had loads of ladies asking if I wanted manicures, massages or my legs de-haired. I thought why not, so I had my hands and feet painted and my legs plucked with string (look at the pics).

In the evening we went out for dinner on the beach front, all the resturants would bring their tables and chairs out on to the sand and light BBQ's, it all looked very romantic. Every night we had major thunderstorms and I mean torrential rain so heavy it sounded like the buildings would break. Then in the mornings it would be boiling hot again and blue skies. Apparently its their wet season in their dry season CRAZY.
Sean had a hair cut for the second time and again it was the strangest way I have seen someone shave a persons head. Sean wanted a number two and the guy got out the clippers and a comb. He then proceeded to use the comb as a guide and just cut Seans hair running the clippers over the comb with no attachment. Fortunatly it ended up ok apart from Sean has an angular hair cut with lumps and bumps he he. I tried not to laugh while it was being cut. We got back and I touched it up for him!
On our last day we went on a boat trip to Bamboo Island about one hour off the coast. The Island has bungalows which you can stay in overnight but we only went for the day. Just relaxed, sunbathed and dug for crabs, what a life hay!

While we was there I made friends with two little girls who lived at our guesthouse. They were so sweet. They spoke little English but they sat next to me on the beach and played in the sea. The kids here are really friendly and cheeky, its nice they want to talk to you. Next stop Siem Reap.
