We have just spent the last four days in Siem Reap after a 12hour bus journey . We visited markets, craft shops and the Angkor temples which were amazing (where Tomb Raider was filmed) The most famous one is Angkor Wat which is huge. We got up at 4am in the morning to see the sunrise over it and it was beautiful but bought a three day pass because it's SO big. It's hard to discribe what they are like but I will give it ago. Basically thousands of years ago ancient kings built these temples all over the Angkor area. The temples are spread out so you need a tuk tuk to drive you to each one or you can walk the 27km round trip but we decided against that (lazy) and hired a driver for the day. Some are big and others are small, a few have massive trees growing out of them with roots that spread everywhere. Definatly had to do a few Lara Croft poses for the camera. These temples have been the best we have seen so far and were so glad we saw them last as they were so much better than the others we have seen elsewhere.
Siem Reap is a really nice relaxed safe place. Lots of markets, great looking resturants, some street vendours and loads of cheeky tuk tuk drivers. There is a bar street where we had a few drinks in the evening and also meet up with the Canadian girls Lorri and Paula who we met back in Mui Ne again.
Sean and I both had massages here as our feet and bodies where aching so much after climbing up and down the temples. $3 for a foot massage not to bad hay and it was lovely, must have more of these. Sean also has had a few massages, one of which was more than he had bargined for, he went on his own because I didnt want one at the time. I have to tell this story because it is so funny, basically he went out for a back massage and ended up at this place that looked ok from the outside just like a normal massage shop. After agreeing a price of $5 the girl started massaging his back. He said it felt like she didnt know what she was doing and that her fingers were all crusty. Then out of nowhere she grabbed his private bits and asked if he wanted 'boom boom'. He didnt know what to do, he quickly said no just back and she just laughed embarrisingly, she then said again 'what no boom boom only twenty dollar' looking suprised. Sean jumped up paid his money and got out of their, more in shock than anything else!

We both really liked Siem Reap it's really hot (like a sauna) and you sweat buckets from morning till night but its something you get use to (well sort of get use to). We leave Cambodia tomorrow on the 16th of March and head for Bangkok so we can get a train to the south of Thailand for the full moon party on the 21st. The trip will take about 30hours so a long slog ahead of us but we may stop in Bangkok for a day or so.
Cambodia for Sean and I has been the country we have most liked so far. I think its because the people are so friendly and it's what we pictured it to be. Less touristy with vast open planes and small shacks on the roadside. Ok the towns and citys are busy and geared up for tourism but everything in between is natural. There is a big devide between rich and poor here which is sad but the kids and people seem so happy never the less, probably because of their horrific history not so long ago they appear to enjoy everyday life regardless of how much money they have, which is a good thing.

Oh yeah I forgot to say, on our first night Sean woke up to go to the toilet and on his way back to bed saw a huge spider the size of his hand on his bed. We had to call the night security guy to come and get it out the room, even he was scared!! We didnt sleep well that night errrrrrr.
