Our last blog from overseas for this trip!

Day 55 - 28/11/09 - Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)

We slept in longer than we meant to this morning which meant we had less of the day to explore the city. After another yummy 5 star breakfast, we wandered down the road to the KL Hop On Hop Off bus stop. This bus is a tourist bus which circles the city stopping at 22 stops which include over 40 sights. The buses come past the stops every 15-30mins and you can get on and off whenever you like, so it was a great way to see the city. Our tickets lasted 24hrs from when we got on the first bus.

Our first stop was the Central Market where we shopped and ate lunch. Shopping was so much fun that we did not realise how much time had gone by! We then checked out KL Sental train station to work out how we were getting to the airport tomorrow. We then got back on the bus and made our to Butterfly Park.

As we got on the bus, it started to rain and it was still raining when we arrived at the Butterfly House, so we were advised not to buy tickets as the butterflies would all be hiding. We thought it was quite nice of them to let us know and not to just take our money. This being said, everyone in KL has been very helpful, polite and nice during our travels here.

We walked to the Bird Park which is the World's largest walk in aviary. It took us about 2 hours to walk through all the sections of the bird park. There were so many amazing birds, and they even had emus! There were heaps of peacocks and some would walk up really close to you. We loved the hornbills, they had really funny personalities! There were wild monkeys running around and playing on the mesh roof (outside the aviary).

After we finally made our way out of the bird park, we caught the bus back to our orinigal bus stop. We walked back to our hotel for a buffet dinner and chocolate fondue desert. We had planned on going back to the Twin Towers today, but we ran out of time and had already seen the view from higher in the KL Tower yesterday.

Day 56 - 29/11/09 - Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) & Melbourne (Australia)

Early morning today! We needed to finalise our packing, have another yummy breakfast and check out. Once all this was completed, we caught a taxi to KL Sentral railway station where we wrapped our luggage and checked in for our flight home tonight - the last flight of this trip! We then shopped and had lunch at the station before heading to KL International Airport.

Once at KLIA, we needed to go through customs and catch a train to another terminal. We got to the airport rather early for our 9:30pm flight, but we wanted to do some shopping and relax before dinner and then our flight and did not want to be rushed!

We took some time to look over our photos and remember the awesome trip we have just had. Now it's just time for some dinner and our flight. We look forward to seeing Melbourne very soon!!
