Happy Easter Scotsberries. Went down to Canberra for the National Folk Festival and saw a great concert with Edie Reeder performing. She did an hours session and brought the house down. Could have listened to her all night.
Picked up Joan from Chris's place and brought her back with me. Weve just spent some time looking at your latest snaps and videos except the Mt Cook video wouldn't play. Joan sends her love and says she so glad you're enjoying NZ, The Land of the Long White Cloud. Looking at your photos made her feel very nostalgic as she and Ralph spent a memorable holiday there. It's Easter Monday here and we're just about to organise our day so will say bye for now.
Maggie i can't believe you met a Ley on a mountain in NZ. He must be related to us. Too kooky a coincidence !! Would be interested in finding out more bout his research.
Keep travellin well Scotsberries. J and J xx

Happy Easter Travelling Dangleberries
I was over the moon, over the bloody moon to get your email yesterday.
Having four seasons in one day here and a crowded house tonight as the lads are up to celebrate the life of Jeff Healey the blues great who died a few weeks ago aged 41. Bill and I met him in Canada a few years back after we gatecrashed a party he was holding to launch a new record label. So don't dream its over as you have another year or so to travel around the distant sun, pineapple heids. As long as you have the weather with you and you dont fall at your feet you'll be OK But you better be home soon though as I am missing you.Phew enuff already with the Crowdie references.Glad you are still enjoying your happy trails. Sorry I havnae been in touch or sending you daft emails. My computer developed serious problems and was down for ages and I had to buy an much bigger external hardrive. Then it was Celtic Connection time and lots of concerts.I managed a long weekend in Dublin in January to visit friends . I was the only Scot amongst all the mad Irish ...mainly women,. i got taught to line dance and the guys just sat and growled as they probably thought I wasa bit of a p**fter for even attempting it. The women were giving them pelters and they thought I was fab. Great weekend.
I have sent you a long email so I will make this brief. Andy. Bill, Tam and Dennis came up last night and we celebrated the life of Canadian blues guitarist Jeff Healey who sadly passed earlier this month at just 41.
Bill and I were particularly sad as we met the big guy three years ago when we visited his club in Toronto. We went to the club twice during our stay and heard him play his blues material but also the New Orleans jazz he could also play on his trumpet. Talented man.
He played the Carling Academy at the end of last year but I missed it as we were in Andalusia at the time.
So we played lots of his music last night and toasted him with buckets of vono tinto.
Will spend a few hours this long Easter weekend catching up with your photo gallery and blogs.
All the best Jim
