A lazy day to stroll around Salta as we have not taken the time yet to do so decently.
In the evening, we walk about 15 blocks to get to the other end of town and go up the San Bernardo hill by Tereferico (too late to walk up by now as it is 18h20 already by the time we make it to the bottom of the hill); The cable car to San Bernardo Hill seems an excellent way to see Salta from above. It proves to be a ten minute ride, taking us from the city centre up to a glorious vista.
On our way back, we pick up our laundry that we stuffed into one basket in order to only have to pay half price! For 50 pesos only, Joost and I get both our full suitcase of clothes back in the nicest way: fresh and even ironed it seems! A bargain!
Around 8h00, just before Joost and I want to go out to get a bite, I text Ryan on FB as a joke. "Beer?". Ryan replies "Definitely, I am in Salta, where are you"? No kidding, this is unbelievable! Despite having gone completely different ways just a week ago, we again have 3 penguins reunited, in Salta this time. We immediately agree to meet up with for dinner in a place highly recommended for steak and wine: el solar de convento. We have a really good meal and decide to call it a day around midnight as we will all meet up again in San Pedro anyhow.
