Day 12: I got up early and made far too much noise, I even started my bike three times before I left just to annoy the neighbours but I think they may have died in the night. We live in hope! I set off for a nice slow ride along the coast then turned around and went in the right direction. I'll get the hang of the satnav one day I swear! It was nice riding along with the beautiful crystal clear blue sea on my right and the quarries and factories on my left. You can't have everything can you so I just kept looking right. This turned out to be quite dangerous as I was riding my bike so I just settled for looking right every now and then instead. It was much safer that way. I was heading for Barcelona and I wasn't in a rush so I stopped at a couple of McDonalds to use their wifi. God bless those golden arches. I reached the outskirts of Barcelona, took a deep breath (I could smell poo again) and headed towards the city centre. I'd say the standard of driving in Barcelona was terrifyingly bad but that's not nearly enough to describe it. Imagine a stock car race track but at 150mph! Anyway, I made it to the Segrada Familia and stopped to admire it. I hope they never finish it as I think the cranes and scaffolding give it a certain quality. Off to the Olympic Flame next and a quick look around some of the seedier areas (thanks satnav) then off up the coast again. I'm now in a very nice campsite next to another railway line and I've booked in for two nights. I think a day off will do me me good. I forgot to mention something I saw earlier on which shows how different the Spanish are. I came out of a town and alongside the road were scantily clad ladies looking hard at the traffic as it went by. I can only assume this was some sort of traffic survey going on and because of the heat the boss had let the ladies come to work in their swimwear. Such compassionate employers in this part of the world. Right then, I'm off to watch the football in the bar and have a well deserved ice-cream. Come back soon to find out what has happened to the rest of the Not Top Gear team. Will Sparky have managed to check the oil on his bike and will Darren have found out where his extra oil has come from? All I know is "The Stig" probably won't care as he's gone for a few beers and a kebab with the lads.
