Day 10 but it seems like day 76: My head hurts nearly as much as my calves do after climbing out of that cave the other day. Can't think why my head hurts but I imagine it has something to do with the sound those bears were making last night!!! I think they had tickets to a chainsaw convention!!!!!!!!! Up nice and early again because we are all over 40 and our bladders, not our alarm clocks, dictate getting up time. Nathan, having surprisingly survived the night, turned up to accompany us on the first hour of the ride towards Alicante. We set off behind him which turned out to be a bit of a mistake as he was quite slow and didn't seem to enjoy going around corners. We stopped for breakfast and the surly waitress pulled out all the stops and ignored us for ages until finally she gave in and served us. Whoever said "the customer is always right" obviously wasn't in Spain at the time. Near hurricane force winds had us eating our breakfast and leaving quickly. I'm not sure what gave me the wind but it could have been vodka based. We dropped Nathan off and headed onto the motorway to numb our bums and send various body parts to sleep due to the vibrations. It's not much fun being on a 650 single going down a windy motorway but that's what we did for about 4 hours! Nightmare! We finally arrived and the receptionist at the campsite remembered us from our visit on the way down and had the air freshener ready. We set up our tents once again, showered then got undressed and headed for the bar. The bar, fortunately for us, was in the pool and doing a nice Mojito so we had a swim/drink type thing then went to change for dinner. We didn't change much so it was three elderly halfwits who headed up to the restaurant. We had an interesting meal as those who have ever watched Fawlty Towers with understand what I mean when I say we were served by Manuel. Fortunately the alcohol kicked in fairly quickly so no bones were broken in the making of dinner. We had a couple more drinks then off to bed to find someone had let all the biting insects from the local area into our tents. How nice of them but at least the bears were fairly quiet as Darren and Sparky spent a fair bit of the night swatting things as did I. Anyway, tomorrow is another day so come back then if you can be bothered :-)
