Well up bright and early to get to my collection point. The trip down the twisty turny roads could have been scarier but I couldn't find someone to hold a pistol to my head as I drove! Note to self: oh my god, oh my god, oh my god! Fortunately for me all the insane Italian drivers must have been on a different road this morning so I made it to the collection point. Nestled in a beautiful valley with the sun shining what could possibly go wrong.
1: The concrete silo I'm collecting isn't ready
2: Well that's pretty much it really. I've got to wait until this afternoon which means this afternoons collection near Milan is now tomorrows collection. It's going to be touch and go if I make it back on Saturday so I can be in London at the cenotaph on Sunday for the remembrance parade. Fingers crossed for that.
Still it's not raining yet and my insides seem to have settled down to mildly grumpy.
Concrete thingy loaded....... Loaded is Italian for thrown on...... and it is strapped down as best as possible. I'm sure it'll stay on for most of the journey. Off we go then. Onto the motorway to study the Jedi driving style used by most Italians. I know it's good to scare yourself every day but they take it to a whole new level! Now parked in a nice service area sandwiched between the very busy motorway and the high speed rail track. Looks like I'll get a good nights sleep before I travel the 110k's to my next nightmare (collection) Good night folks and please come back to see if I've been abducted by aliens while I try to sleep :-)
