Ok,
Good news and bad news.........
Good news is my bike has nice new tyres and chain now. Both my brakes work and for a whole half an hour my bike was clean-ish...... Darren is also the proud and slightly excited small child wrapped in a fat bloke type owner of his very orange KTM. All good news indeed and watching Darren riding home in the rain on knobbly tyres for the first time did raise a bit of a smile, in fact after a few corners I was smiling so much my bladder considered joining in!
Here comes the bad news. Whilst up on the ramp the nice French mechanic bloke pointed out the fact my water pump was leaking through the little hole in the bottom of it which in water pump language means it's not very well :-( As we're off to somewhere slightly hotter than the underarm of a Turkish kebab owner it's probably best to try and get it sorted. Of course being on a budget now means I'll be living off dirty water and gravel for the next couple of months as a new water pump will set me back a bit. Anyway, on the plus side it's all down hill to Morocco so I can just free wheel down! Wishful thinking but hey why not. Of course none of this matters really as neither of us has got his log book back for our bikes yet so until that lovely piece of paper is in our soon to be sweaty hands we can't get out of the country.
Next week will be a particularly interesting one as we get grumpier and grumpier getting things ready for the big day.
Come back soon for another exciting episode in the lives of Darren and Dave as we boldly go where sane people wouldn't on bikes only juvenile trainee burglars would take!
