Hello again.
Well I thought I would update my blog, seeing as how Paul's fast asleep on the sofa after a few too many beers last night, and maybe a bit of food poisoning courtesy of Mary Brown's crispy chicken burger I think!! And I'm suffering from tummy cramps because of the Mary Brown's thing too :-(
Well I've been horse riding a couple more times now, so now 4 times in total, the last three times I have had Impy and I love her. Normally I don't really click with mares but she's so beautiful and sweet, I just love her! Owner last Saturday with Paul, Sadia and Keith. They all got a quick lesson for how to walk and stop, holding the reins correctly then we went for a nice relaxing walking hack down the beach. And then I went again Friday past with Caroline. The tide was too high to ride on the beach and the lead girl's horse started coughing when we trotted so we just had a nice chilled out walking hack through the bush this time.
So Paul and I are now qualified Advanced Open Water divers. Yesterday we did our Multi-level and Navigation dives (so to add with our previous adventure dives being the Deep Water, Underwater Photography and the dive with the boards trying to identify fish and coral) so we've now done 5 adventure dives. The navigation was pretty scary for me, it's one of the things I have nightmares about, and to make it worse, yesterday, the visibility was about 10m and there was a bit if a current, and I struggled to trust the compass so I kinda got lost, but Paul and our instructor found me so that was ok but I feel a bit of a failure. Although that was for the swim out for 20 kicks then swim back for 20 kicks. But when I did my square I managed it better and did find them. So I just need to trust the compass more!! We have another dive booked for next Saturday, but it will just be a casual dive, no testing or anything, just chilling out under the water! We saw a turtle yesterday, that was cool!!
Paul gave me an ultimatum yesterday, we want to visit Cape Town at some point, and whilst there he wants to either sky dive or do the cage diving with sharks, and he asked me to decide which I would rather do. Tbh the idea of both scare me more than anything, I asked him if I could think about it, and after thinking about it I decided that it doesn't really matter which one I chose because he'll still want to do them both, so I think we're maybe gonna do the cage diving with sharks first, then the sky diving another time. That is assuming I don't freeze up before doing either and whimp out. I really hope I manage to find the courage to do them both as it would do my confidence massive good to be able to face some of my biggest fears!
Well last Saturday we decided to have a party. We went to the liquor store n bought a shed load of booze, and we got a local restaurant to make us nibbles n snacks. We had about 23 people turn up which was good, and not too crowded in our small apartment, and maybe next time we can invite more, maybe up to 30 guests. It went well we think, but we were left with heaps of food and drink. On the Sunday we went to one of the islands called Mbudya which was really lovely. It had a few really nice baobab trees, so we walked through the middle of the island, through trees and lava rock, to get to the other side which was completely deserted and wonderful. We just had a little swim there then went back to the side with all the huts and people. It was a nice relaxing day!
We still haven't been out for a ride on our bikes... I think I've forgotten how to ride it haha!! I miss racing, I dreamt about racing last night. I hope I can still ride it as well as I used to when we do eventually find somewhere to ride them!
Well I haven't eaten anything yet today due to Paul's hangover and my tummy cramps. But it's now half 2 and I'm pretty darned hungry!! Hopefully he'll wake from his slumber soon and we can go to the G&D for a nice Sunday lunch!
Over and out...
