So Thursday night, after supper, we just headed back to the hotel room. Paul had some more emails to send and then we just chilled watching tv then went to sleep.
Friday morning, early breakfast again, although I almost slept through Paul getting up. I had some melon and pineapple this morning and some little chocolate filled pastry things which were yummy. Paul then went off to work and I went back to the room, watched a bit of tv then showered. When the housekeeping lady came knocking I grabbed my book and went to a shaded outdoor seating area to read a little. Once I started to fall asleep I headed back to the room and just pottered about.
Paul turned up for lunch early, at about 11am as he needed to get back to work earlier, so we headed pit to the supermarket and bought sone crisps and sweets then went to a little Thai restaurant by Oyster Bay, where we think there was a little transgender going on with the waiter/waitress, that said, the service was impeccable and the food was delicious. Paul then dropped me off at the Slipway with another 30,000 (£12) so I could go shop around some other stalls which I didn't see the other day, but I wish I had seen! However today was all about getting something for Paul and I to keep for ourselves to remember this place by. The wood carvings are amazing, I wish I could buy so much more stuff, I wish I had a bigger suitcase lol!! I bought a wooden bowl with animal carvings all over it to use as a fruit bowl, and I saw these great wooden carved frames but they all had things in them, like elephants or Maasai warriors, in a box frame, but one lady said she could make me an actual photo frame with the border being the carved wood, so I have to go back tomorrow to pick it up, I just hope she understood what I wanted and I like it. That said, the bowl and frame will only have cost £12 so it's no biggy really. I owe Paul big time for all this money he is wasting on me!!
I was exhausted after my shopping escapades again but decided just to walk back to the hotel anyway, to try and burn some of this food off. The sky was overcast so the sun wasn't going to burn me, although it was still very humid!! So that's me safely back in the hotel room now, nice and cool with the air conditioning on, watching tv. Paul is busy again today so I should think it will be another full day of work for him, poor guy, on Easter weekend too.
Well Paul got back to the hotel about 6pm tonight, I got changed, then we headed to the George and Dragon with Taylor Green (Technical Professional for BG), where we met Andrew Lawson (Eastern Africa Manager for Wireline and Perforating) and Ron Morris (Halliburton's East Africa Manager). We had a couple drinks there then headed to the Sea Cliff where we had another drink then went to a lovely restaurant there with Ron and his wife, Valerie, where we had a lovely meal!! We then went back to the bar where Paul, Ron and Valerie all had another drink, but I passed as I was feeling a wee bit drunk already. We got a taxi back to the hotel where Paul promptly replied to some emails, then we watched a bit of tv and went to sleep.
