New hostel tonight Due to the delay in getting a ticket for the train so now in a mixed dorm my bunk mate is a very camp Chinese male who could only say hello in English. Other beds are empty for now. Today's adventure was an incredibly long walk to the train station thought I'd sort out the ticket for the overnight train to Chaing Mai for the 17th I got there at 1pm having left at 10am by the most direct route, once there was told the train is fully booked so had to go with the 18th instead praying that the hostel had a room for me for the extra night, no such luck! Today I thought I'd go out and about a bit as the picture shows I ended up at the Wat Phra Karw & Grand Palace also known as the temple of the Golden Buddha it's a beautiful place I got lost a couple of times as thought I'd save money and walk there I got accosted a few times by people trying to con me into hiring a tuk tuk for a few hours as apparently the temple wasn't open for 3 more hours (this was a lie)! So finally made it after 24 hours of travel got a taxi to the hostel I wimped out after the trauma of nearly leaving my passport money etc at the airport it's very hot 31degrees despite it being nearly midnight so should be an interesting sleep......or not! The hostel have given me a single room hence the photo its quite cute a bit like a beach hut or something that used to be on heidi hi!! Well I hope I get chatting to people tomorrow and start making some plans...
