Well I have previously said that the transport couldn't get any worse right? Well WRONG. VIP means something very different here than it would back in the UK. The bus journey here seemed short as I was able to sleep, despite being crammed into an even smaller space I was asleep for the most part. I did however wake to see the sun coming up over the mountains behind Nha Trang and it was a perfect way to start the day.
I hadn't been lazy this time and searched some hostels, however it was google maps which led me down the wrong way in finding them this time. At 7 am I was a little sharper than normal, asking someone where to get somewhere and then after they had told me how to get there they told me it'll cost me 20,000 dong to be taken there...why? You've just told me where it is and it's only a couple roads away...I'm walking! The Hostel is really nice, quite close to the beach and the staff are helpful which is good.
I decided to take a walk to the Oceanographic centre in Nha Trang (Aquarium to you and I) and when something seems far away on the map, trust me it is! It took ages to get there for something I was not sure was worth it. Don't get me wrong, there are some nice fish in there and I got to see some sharks but I think it upset me a little bit after seeing a couple of sea lions in such a small enclosure, small is different to everyone but when small is less than 6 ft by maybe 10ft, it becomes small in anyone's book. I think all the fish samples freaked me out a bit too, there were hundreds of them just sitting in little jars in a display case. In the name of science I guess. Oh I did get to see some of Australia's most dangerous sea life too and read up on how they can kill you...roll on Australia!
This evening was slightly less eventful I went to dinner with a guy called Daniel who was on my bus. He chose the restaurant because it said it did Vietnamese food...I didn't have the heart to tell him that nearly all the restaurants were labelled the same! Early night tonight as tomorrow I am doing my own cooking at Lanterns Vietnamese restaurant which I am really looking forward to *smile*.
The picture is of Nha Trang beach, early in the day when it's less crowded.
