Arrival in KL took a little longer than planned (of course lol) but once I was there it was an amazing sight, a massive concrete jungle where you could see the KL Tower and the Petronas Towers straight away in the distance from the Puduraya bus station.
Finding the hostel was easy (for once!) and I checked into an 8 bed dorm. Everyone seemed very friendly and I immediately decided to take a walk round town at night. I had seen a walking tour suggestion on Wiki and it said about 3 hours so I decided to take it. It took me right up to the Petronas Towers and round past the KL Tower. I will however say to anyone thinking of doing this, do not try and get to the entrance of the Petronas Towers through the Suria Shopping centre. There are no signs and you will be walking around forever! My first glimpse of the towers up close was from the garden in the KLCC and they were beautiful. Lit up like little Christmas trees in the night. It is hard to believe that these buildings held the title of the worlds tallest, in that there is anything taller out there! I was too late to get a ticket for the skybridge so will have to look at that another time. Walking back was interesting I think I lost count of how many people shouted out 'hey baby, you alright!' at me whilst walking by myself. Guess it is still a little unusual to see a 'Western' woman walking alone through a city in Malaysia. I went to sleep once I got back but not before someone who couldn't sing was sat outside screaming for a couple hours with his guitar...
Tomorrow is going to be a much busier day as I have an awful lot to pack in a short space of time. Anything big I think I will leave till I return from KK.
This is my favourite picture that I have taken of the Petronas Towers in KL.
