Sunday saw me, Marion and Bas attack the 3 biggest Temples in the Angkor complex. On Monday I went round a smaller circuit with Marion which were just as nice but took much less time to see. Our Tuk Tuk driver was very knowledgeable and took us the best route round to see everything. We even made it up to Phnom Bakeng which is supposed to be the best place to see sunrise or sunset in the Angkor complex. However, I will admit that I never did go for sunrise or sunset because the weather has been quite variable so it was either cloudy or raining so no one saw anything. Thank god I didn't bother getting up at 5 am on a punt!
I finally caught up with Tony last night when he arrived in town from Sihanoukville. I did tell him he wouldn't want to leave there which is why he arrived in Siem Reap a couple days later! Somehow we ended up dancing the night away in the Temple Bar till 1 am. I am beginning to think it is me encouraging other people!
This morning was a little different, I had the intention of doing nothing today on a break from the Temples but Tony called round and we ended up going Quad biking through the countryside outside of Siem Reap on a 500 Quad bike. It was a good day and much more comfortable than the motorbike we'd been on down in Kampot, if only I could stop hitting my back on the metal bar causing more damage! We passed through some small towns and little villages to see the children shouting out hello...and Dollar! Someone joked a little while ago that Dollar is the first word they learn instead of saying hello!
I managed to get another chain for my St Christopher tonight at the Night Market and will be off to some further away Temples tomorrow with Marion on my last day in Siem Reap.
The picture is of me on the back of the Quad bike.
