Sarah and Nicola Matthews' Travels
Hi,
We are still in Perth and loving every minute. We are leaving tomorrow to go to Singapore which will be cool but we will definitely miss Perth.
We have had a nice relaxing time while we have been here which has involved shopping, a bit of sightseeing and lots of gossiping with my aunts and cousin.
We had a lovely night on Saturday night. Colette made the most gorgeous curry - me and Caroline were taste testers. It is a hard job but someone has to do it! Colette and Gary had some friends around and we watched the England match so it was cool!
On Sunday we went to the beach with my aunt Anne, her husband Jeff and their 2 kids. I think Colette thought we were mad going to the beach in winter but it was actually really warm. We sat there for hours and had a huge fat icecream. Jeff and the kids braved a swim but from the screams coming from them i dont think it was greatly warm!
On Monday me and Caroline went to Rotnest which is a nearby island. It was absolutely gorgeous although Caroline was green by the time we got there as we had a majorly rough crossing. We hired bikes and cycled around the island which was fun. There were loads of beaches with the most gorgeous water that was really clear. The island has little animals living on it called Quokkas which are look like a mixture of small kangaroos and large rats. they are cuter than they sound! There are also loads of birds on the island who ganged up and stole our lunch which wasn't so fun!
Me and Caroline had dillusions of grandeur when we were on the island and decided to go on a pleasure flight around the island. it was actually quite cheap so we upgraded to a flight around the island, then a flight back to perth and over the city. The aeroplane was tiny so i was a bit scared taking off but the views were absolutely amazing so i soon forgot about being scared!
That night despite being tired due to the shock of doing some excercise we went off to the pub with my cousin carly to watch Australia v Japan. The Socoroos as they are known played really well and won so the atmosphere was amazing! We then decided to hit the town - unfortunately they wouldn't let me and Caroline in to the club as we only had our driving licenses and not our passports so we ended up in a great place called 'The Bog'- I think the name says it all!
