Hi, Well we are in Koh Samui now and it is really nice. We are staying in a gorgeous little place which is just on the beach and after our hell hole in Koh Phan Ngan it seems like Paradise! Despite having a hell hole in Koh Phan Ngan we were quite sad to leave as we had had a wicked time. The last night was good as it was the night after the full moon party and it was like a different place. It was really quiet and not many people were drinking so everyone was just chilling on the beach so it was really cool. We had a bit of a nightmare on the way to Koh Samui so it was a good job we ended up in nice accomodation otherwise I think we would have cried! It started badly when our hell hole guest house charged us extra for having people to stay over during the full moon - we tried to resist based on the fact we had: cockroaches, dirty sheets, an unwashed bathroom and a door that had been kicked in - but they were having none of it! feeling very annoyed we stomped off to breakfast only for Carolines backpack strap to break making it imposible to carry. Then we got on the ferry to Koh Samui. The ferry was tiny and should probably have only accomodated 150 people but there were easily 1000 people on it all with at least 2 bags. This was scary enough as people were piled everywhere. Then, just as we set off we had a massive storm. We were undercover but it made no difference as the rain was coming in sideways and so we got absolutely soaked.Worse than this though was the fact that the ferry was practically going sideways into the sea as one of its sides was practically in the sea whilst the side we were on was really high in the air. Basically I was convinced I was going to die - and im not just being dramatic! People were screaming and everyone cheered when we caught sight of Samui - by which time I was shaking! I have never been so happy to see land, although we had to empty out our entire backpacks when we got to our guesthouse as everything was absolutely soaked. I had about 3 items of dry clothes to my name! After the bad start to the day it was very lucky we were staying somewhere really nice. Later in the day we met up with my brother Dave and his girlfriend Lisa who are here on holiday. It was so nice to see them although as Dave said after about 5 mins it seemed like we'd seen each other last week as opposed to 6 months ago! That night we all went out and had a wicked night out, we had lots of beer and danced loads so it was fun. Though I was slightly disturbed by the amount of lady boys and dodgy thai girls trying to ensnare a western guy. Yesterday we just relaxed by our pool and on the beach - its a hard life! Then last night we all went to play Crazy golf which was absolutely hilarious! We were pretty much all as bad as each other apart from Dave. I almost took out and innocent bystander when by ball bounced off part of the course and our scores were pretty terrible! After the 'exercise' we had had we were quite hot so we headed to the beach. We sat at one of the bars on the beach where they just give you big cushions and you sit around so that was really really nice and very relaxing. Today has been a busy day of beach and shopping! Only 2 weeks left of our trip from today! xx
