Sarah and Nicola Matthews' Travels
Hey,
We are still in Koh Phan Ngan and are having a cool time. Last night was the Full Moon party which was absolutely crazy, there were so many people on the beach that you could hardly move but it was loads of fun. The night before the full moon party we had quite a big night out and so we were feeling a bit ropey yesterday but we still managed to party again!
The night before Full Moon was really good as we met up with the girls we had met in Australia, as well as our friend Amy from home and another guy called Bloggs from home. The beach was absolutely packed that night too but there was slightly more room to move. It was really cool to see everyone and I think everyone had a few too many buckets of Samsong and Coke but we had a good dance and catch up so it was good. There was also the obligatory Thai beach fire show which was good, although we were sitting a bit near the front which made me nervous! The funniest thing though was the ring of fire which was basically a big hoola hoop which was set on fire and people were diving through it- really dangerous but very funny when you're drunk! Luckily I wasn't tempted because my lack of coordination twinned with my short skirt would have made it a recipe for disaster!
Eventually we stumbled home only to be greeted in our room by our friendly cockroach room mates who we thought we had got rid of. Luckily I am super brave in my drunk state so was quite happy to chase them all out of the room with a broom while Caroline busied herself hugging the toilet!
Yesterday we had arranged to meet up with Anne, a dutch girl we had met in Kanchanaburi. She came over in the morning from Koh Tao with two other dutch friends. I had somehow managed to escape any sort of hangover so I had to play hostess for the day while Caroline spent the whole day in bed. We all went out to the full moon party last night and met up with all our friends from the night before so that was cool. Unfortunately one of the dutch guys underestimated the toxic strength of the buckets so was back tucked up in our room by 12 even though he was supposed to be partying until the first ferry at 8 in the morn!
So today has been a lazy one and I think tonight will be a fairly tame affair.
We have also done a boat trip round the island since we have been here. Unfortunately it was rubbish! There were a ridiculous amount of people crammed in to a dodgy looking wooden long boat. We went to a unimpressive waterfall then went snorkelling but there weren't even nearly enough snorkels for the amount of people and then it started to rain! Not very good.
Anyway, we are off to Koh Samui tomorrow which should be good as we are meeting up with my Brother and his girlfriend so im really excited!
