Stayed by myself on Koh Samui as I had an early flight to Bangkok. Koh Samui airport was lovely. Streets of boutique shops, fish tanks everywhere and complimentary breakfast for everyone! The owner of the hostel gave me a lift to the airport on the back of his bike. I had to carry my big bag and little bag whilst on the back it was pretty hard to stay upright.
