All day travelling again today, stopping off for a nice walk round a lake, the view at the lookout was stunning with the mountains reflecting on lake mathason. Funny incident in the minibus today involving a passenger pulling a moonie at the big bus when we overtook it, after which he fell back into the window when we went round a corner & smashed it!! It took around 7 hours to get to franz joseph as we stopped twice for some long walks along the coastline to break up the day. My main activity here was the glacier walk which we were taken to by helicopter! Amazing experience! Loved the helicopter ride it was amazing, we got kitted out in our w/p trousers & jackets, boots with spikes to walk on ice etc! We then walked up the glacier, through it & back down for 3hours, it's moved quite considerably in 4ye...

One night stop in Westport after around a 5hour journey from kaiteriteri. Had a two hour surf lesson which was great fun! Then a quick get ready, so quick we were drinking wine from the bottle in the shower!! Then off out for our organised four legged bar crawl where 4 people got tied together by our feet & weren't allowed to detach ourselves until the third drink in the third bar! Was a great night! That's all there was to do in Westport so after one night ...

I got picked up by a smaller kiwi bus today as the big one is full! I took the front co-pilot seat for a glorious drive along the coast to kaiteriteri. There's not a lot to do here but it's a beautiful bay with million dollar houses on the hills, one of which was owned by shania twain! Our hostel did $5 fish & chips which are apparently the best in the South Island! They were pretty good!! Only did the 1night here, soaking up the sun on the beach in the after...

After around 7/8 hours I arrived at Nelson where I hopped off the bus to stay with my old school friend Hannah monks & her fiancé simon for two nights in their beautiful home with a stunning outside deck looking out to the jet blue sea! I loved it here, they really looked after me, I had a nice soak in a bath, lots of tea, steak, bbq, wine oh it was refreshing! I had the best nights sleep I've had since travelling!
