We had an early start sorting washing out and we went to the gym on the RV site before we set off over the mountains to Palm Springs! It was only 16’c in Bakersfield but 36’c in Palm Springs hard to comprehend such a big temperature change in a few hours drive! We had an early start to drive up to the sequoia National Park we stopped off at a big cat sanctuary which was amazing! It was a conservation park where they offered guided tours of some of the rarest cats in the world. We loved it and got some great videos of the cats whilst learning lots at the same time. We set off into three rivers to see what whitewater rafting trips were available we had just missed one so we headed to the lake which we had passed on the way in, Lake Kaweah we had a picnic at the side of the lake and soaked up the sunshine! It was the warmest it had been so far on our trip! We went back into the village searching some internet suggestions for rafting and stumbled on a set up where they agreed to take us out on a trip for 2 hours down the river...

We had a pit stop last night basically in the middle of nowhere it was like a truckers stop, but it was just what we needed to refresh ready to hit the road and head south! We left the RV site and headed for Highway one down to the Big Sur, it is an infamous road which goes down the Pacific coast and is well known for its sheer cliff drops and spectacular scenery!
