Dear all,
I know its been a while since i wrote, to be honest i havent been near any fast internet connections for a while ( will try and upload some photos soon)
I finished my trip with intrepid our last stop before bangkok being the siem reap, where we saw all the temples at ankor wat, we went to a really cool restaurant there as well called the blue pumpkin, which had the coldest air conditioning ever, which was really needed as we had some hot weather! The hotel where we stayed also had a pool so we had lots of opportunities to cool off !
We then took the 12 hour bus ride back to bangkok, along dirt tracks until you get to the thailand border and then you get proper roads, let me tell you now, if you ever do this trip never ever do it with a hang over, you will suffer !
We then said goodbye to everyone in bangkok, and went our seperate ways. I flew down to the krabi district, where i spent a few days on ko yao, a very undeveloped island a few days on ko phi phi , which is one of the most beautiful places on my trip. In ko yao, we spent alot of time, realxing and exploring the island, the villages there are very remote and im sure they havent seen many westerners before !
Phi phi was a change, although slightly more touristy, it was a complete paradise, and not too busy, we went snorkelling, and spent time walking around the island , specifically up to the view point where you could see the whole isand !
Another really interesting aspect was to see the restoration after the tsunami, they had pictures of its developement since it occured and its truly amazing to see how well they have all pulled together to help.
I left Krabi on the 11th and have headed to kuala lumpur. This is a complete contrast to the islands, its not complete crazy and busy city, but parts are. Alot more cars here than in bangkok and hanoi, where the city is dominated by tuk tuk drivers and motorbikes !
So far i have been up to the sky bridge between the two towers, i ahev walked around the city alot, seeing mosque , squares, parks, the central market and much more.
The two tower builidng is something that kuala lumpur is very proud of ! Its a bit starnge how proud as although the building is architecturaly speaking quite amazing, it houses the headquarters for an oil/pharmaceutical company? ( not the friendlist things). BUt they have alot besides this there, including a 6 story mall, a music hall and plenty more !
Im off for a few days in singapore on friday the 15th , to see cynthia and pack kay ( our family friends) and i will be back home a week today, cannot wait to see everyone.
Lots of love sarah xx
