BARCELONA PART 2.........PLEASE READ THE FIRST PART IN ORDER FOR THIS TO MAKE SENSE
okay, So at the bar we all drank sangria which is wine and vodka with fruit and cinnamon in it. So good. But apparently the sangria was too much for me. i was way tipsy when we left the bar and a friend had to steady me on the stair down, and I tripped alot. uh oh. Yea, after only the one drink of sangria and a shot that the bartender bought us on him i was way past my limit. Anyway, when we walked outside there were so many fireworks going on, that I sobered up pretty quickly because I was so scared. Apparently saturday night was the biggest celebration day in Barcelona. Anyone and everyone who had fireworks were allowed to set them off, and pretty much anywhere they wanted. In the middle of the streets there are sparklers and loud things that go BOOM that they woudl throw at ppl. i was so scared about getting burned. That city is LOCO. oh my goodness. We went down to the beach at about midnight where majority of the fireworks were being set off. As mentioned, they are not being set off by professions, just anyone who wnats to. So all of a sudden next to us, people are setting off things, and we had to watch as the fire came back down and landed in the sand so that we wouldnt get burnt. I was really scared and quite tired at this point. We went to a cafe at like 2:30 in the morning until they closed, then decided to walk to the bus station and wait there until our 8 am bus left. We had to walk through the city that late and I was alittle scared, but it was fine. Got to the bus station aat about 3:30 am, and it seemed normal that people were sleeping there until the morning. They were homeless just like us. We sat there just trying to stay awake till the inside of the station opened at 5:30. A british man yelled down at us from the balcony above,¨Hey Yanks, what are you doing there? Its the F-ing best night of the year in Barcelona, why arent you at the beach? He was so drunk and sounded funny wtih his british accent. we told him we were from Canada, and he kept asking us why we were there and not out partying. At one point, molly asked him in a british accent, Are you Harry Potter? And I almost peed my pants laughing. he got mad and threw euros at us....seriously....no one is going to believe that but he did. So we had some money for the metro! After he went away, a male and female prostitute came to visit us and offered us things, so we high tailed it out of there, laughing the whole time. Once the station openeed, we went in there and slept till the train took off at 8. We didnt get back home to Segovia until 7 that evening. Wow what a weekend!!!!!!
I plan on talking about my Toledo, and my classes in the next entries. Hasta luego!
