Airlie Beach

A very nice stretch of beach, with a great lagoon, much like Cairns.Airlie beach is made up of one street lined with clubs, bars and most importantly, 2 happy hours.We were using Airlie as a launch pad to the Whitsunday islands.Having spent most of the morning talking to a travel agent organising our trip to the Whitsundays and grabbing a bargain through booking our trip to Fraser Island with them too - and not to forget the 2 free nights accomodation we received in Sydney as well.We ambled down to the beach for the afternoon sun.

Now this holiday I have obtanied very very little sun burn, however I feel I must highlight the weird areas I have burnt.Today really put the icing on the cake!On previous days I have unfortunaltey burnt my upper boob, chest area and some significant sun glasses marks on the old face. (lucy got a good laugh out of these)In Townsville I managed to burn my left eye lid - yes thats the only part of me.And today - I burnt my ass.The painful part that you sit directly on.Oh bad times.

We enjoyed various free drinks and the Rugby opening ceromony before stumbling bac k to the van for, yet another, good nights sleep.
