We have been on an adventure! Yesterday we went into the jungle to a retired elephent camp where elephants who used to pull logs around now play with tourists. We rode an elephant, she was 48years old and afterwards we feed her bananas right into her mouth - she had a huge, pointy, slimy tongue. We got to stroke her aswell, it was amazing! After the elephant ride we went to a waterfall and had a swim around but it was really cold! Then some lunch before the kayaking. Jim was really looking forward to the kayaking but he soon lost the enthusiasm after we started to paddle! There were times when we both wanted to push eachother into the water to stop the moaning mostly about my steering (we kept getting stuck in the middle of the rapids) and Jim about his back (he's 24 going on 74!) but we did eventually finish, last I might add after a pair of OAP's. I now have blisters on both of my thumbs - a true testiment to the hardwork we put in! Jim has stated, and I qoute, "I will never be going anywhere near an f**king Kayak again, ever!" So as you can see the day was a complete success, well the elephants bit was anyway. Going to Phonsavan tomorrow on our way to Vietnam, another 8 - 10 hour bus journey through the mountains - horray!
